About Our Journey

Our Foundation

Established in 2014, Women's Group For Disability Rights is an organization run by and for women with psycho-social disabilities. We operate on a twin-track approach focusing on advocacy and service delivery.

Our Programs

We offer specialized programs including peer support and community-based initiatives. Our services include counselling, yoga, meditation, and recreational activities, all tailored for women with psycho-social disabilities.

Our Advocacy

We focus on CRPD-based advocacy, addressing the challenges faced by women with psycho-social disabilities in Nepal. Our work aims to combat stigma, fight discrimination, and promote human rights implementation.

TEWA Programs

Our successful TEWA programs include peer support and community-based initiatives. These six-month programs provide comprehensive support through counselling, yoga, meditation, and community engagement.

Community Impact

Even during the challenging CORONA period, we successfully provided community-based services, including counselling and support. Our work has empowered women and educated families about psycho-social disabilities.

Our Vision

Working towards implementing CRPD Article 6 in Nepal, we strive to create a society where women with psycho-social disabilities enjoy equal rights and opportunities, free from stigma and discrimination.

Support. Advocacy. Empowerment.

Since 2014, we've been working on a twin-track approach, combining advocacy with service delivery to support women with psycho-social disabilities in Nepal.

Our comprehensive TEWA-supported initiatives include:

Peer Support Program
